Driving in Croatia

The road network is globally good but some roads are dangerous because of the intense traffic and the bad condition of roadways. Be vigilant on secondary roads and downtown.

Attention: Croatia do not apply any tolerance for alcohol when driving (0,0g/L): in the case of a positive test you risk a high fine and the immediate withdrawal of your driving licence.

If an accident occurs it is imperative to contact the police in order she establishes a report. Following that, you will be convened with the court within 24 hours and the case will be immediately judged.

If you get a fine it has to be paid on the spot. If you leave the scene of the accident it can be considered as a failure to stop.

Check your petrol tank: service stations can be rather rare out of large roads. Vehicles which engage on a roundabout have the priority.

It is forbidden to drive on the tramway lines.
