Driving In Netherlands

It is clear that Holland is not the country of the car and this is good!Dutch drivers do not have the reputation to be very courteous.

In Amsterdam it is preferable not to try the adventure and to go back to some means of transport more typical of the country: bicycle or tram. Anyway, you will not manage to park and the city is much more pleasant to be discovered by walk or on bicycle.

Netherlands are the kingdom of the bicycle and probably never you would not have seen so much! They have the priority on cars. Be vigilant when changing directions. A glance on right to check the dead angle is highly recommended because an accident can have serious consequences.

The road network is dense and in good condition but often saturated by lorries. In the cities be careful to the many paved streets which can be slipping when raining. Be aware also of trams which have always the priority.
